The way in which America learns many of it traditions and history is by hearing a story. This has been the tradition since the beginning of the United States. Television is full of stories. It was reported that “narrative and genre(Hoppensatd 1)” are an important part of our culture. These elements are also an important part of telling a story. This is the way that us Americans learn. Through hearing the story we gain a lot of insight. As citizens of this country we truly enjoy hearing these stories.

I believe that this is a very good article because it truly gave the reader something to think about. The article went on to explain different types of storytelling. It was also stated that as Americans we truly enjoy these stories. These stories are what guides us through our lives. The article truly gave me something to think about. There is no doubt that with our busy lives we truly forget how important stories are.

The intended audience for this article was television watchers. These people sit down every night and watch television It was proven ‘without a story(Hoppensatd 1) “ we would have nothing to watch on television. I believe that this is very important because even as television programs change people still want a good story. These stories sometimes can control a person’s actions.

The radio you her them talking about last’s nights television show. All of these things happen and we are not even aware of it. Storytelling is a very important part of everyone’s life. Think about it how many homes in America today do not have a television. Everyone is involved with storytelling.

As Americans there is no doubt that we can not live without a television. These shows were reported as providing “several years to enjoy the characters(Hoppenstand 1).” Many shows air for many years and people watch every episode.

This article truly gave me something to think about. We watch so many television that we do not even realize what we are doing anymore. Our subconscious mind takes over, and we do not even realize how much the television controls our lives.

The article was also about creating a good storyline. These storylines are the way in which writers make their money. These stories are what keeps the television viewer interested in the movie. The better the script the more the person is interested in the show. The author of the article made it clear that more interesting story lines get better reviews. The article also included details how the script of the program is written. This script is what the viewer enjoys. The whole object is to keep the viewer interested in the program. The style which a program is written is what can attract viewers.

The article also went on to say what type of television programs are most interesting for a person to watch The important thing to remember is that the writer wants the person to like the show so they watch it again. An important way the writer achieves this is by creating something that the viewer sees as interesting.

It is also important that the viewer can identify with the character. By identifying with the character this interests the viewer more. Keeping their interest is important because once you lose their interest they may not watch it anymore. There is a lot of work that a writer must go through to make a good show. The writer always keeps in mind the viewer. It is not easy to make a program that everyone will like. This takes years to produce.

As I read this article I began to understand everything that a writer has to factor in to produce a good program. This takes skill and experience. After reading through this article I realized what a job the writer has on their hands. Obviously as times change so do the way movies are written. The most important thing to remember is who is going to see this show. By having your audience in mind you can tailor your script to their needs.

The main way in which the writer keeps the viewer interested is through “numerous interesting plot twists(Hoppenstand 1). ‘ This truly makes sense because the writer has to come up with new scenes to keep the plot interesting. There is no doubt that an interesting plot keeps a person on the edge of their seat. The plot is what entertains us. That is what the writer works so hard to accomplish.

The task of keeping people interested takes a lot of skill. You have to decide what is interesting. I am sure that there are times when the writer uses trial and error. It is not always easy to figure out what someone really wants to watch.

The main thing that I will take from this article is that when a writer writes a script they have a job to interest the viewer. There is a lot of energy that is put into making something for television. I now see why it takes so long to produce a movie. A movie is a work of art that takes time to produce. Scripts are something that are definitely carefully made. I will never look at television again the way I used to. There is an art to this production. It takes years of experience just to know what will make an interesting story, and even longer to produce it.
